Privacy & Cookie Policy

Last updated: 1 October 2026

This page explains, in plain language, what this website collects when you visit it or send an enquiry, and what you can choose. You can change your cookie choice at any time:

Who we are

Morocco Elite Guide is run by Hamid Bouredda, a licensed mountain guide based in Imlil, Morocco (Imlil, Asni 42152, Marrakech, Morocco). For any question about your data, email info@moroccoeliteguide.com.

Cookies and your choice

If you visit from the United Kingdom, the European Economic Area or Switzerland — or if we cannot tell where you are — we show a cookie banner. Until you click Accept, Google Analytics and Google Ads cookies are not used and our own attribution data is not saved in your browser.

To decide whether the banner is needed, your browser asks our content-delivery network (Cloudflare) which country your connection comes from. Only the country code is used, and it is not stored.

For visitors from other countries, measurement is switched on by default. Anyone can use to reject it.

Your choice is saved in your browser for 6 months (meg_consent). Rejecting deletes the attribution data described below. You can reopen the choice from the “Cookie settings” link at the bottom of every page, or with the button above.

Google Analytics 4 and Google Ads

We use Google Analytics 4 to see how many people visit and which pages are useful, and Google Ads conversion tracking to see which of our ads lead to an enquiry (for example, a tap on a WhatsApp button or a booking request). Google is the provider of these services.

We use Google Consent Mode. While consent is not given, Google tags do not set or read advertising or analytics cookies and ad click identifiers are removed from what is sent; Google may still receive basic, cookieless signals (for example, that a page was viewed) and uses these for aggregated, modelled reporting. When you accept, Google may set its cookies (such as _ga and _gcl_au) according to its own retention rules.

More about how Google uses this information: How Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Our own attribution data (first-party)

When you arrive from an ad or a tagged link, the web address can contain marketing parameters: gclid, gbraid, wbraid (Google Ads click identifiers) and utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_term, utm_content (campaign labels). We also note the page you landed on and the website that referred you.

With your consent (or where consent is not required), we keep the first and the most recent of these in your browser for 90 days, so that if you contact us later we know which ad or link brought you. No name, email or phone number is stored in your browser.

Without consent, nothing is saved in your browser; the campaign labels are only used for the page you are on, and Google click identifiers are not attached to your enquiry.

Enquiries, WhatsApp and your MEG reference

When you tap a WhatsApp button, we create a short reference (for example MEG-7K3Q) and add it to the pre-written WhatsApp message. We also save a record of that tap in our booking system (hosted by Base44): the reference, the tour, the button and page used, device type (mobile/desktop), language, time zone, the time, your consent status and — only if allowed as described above — the marketing parameters. At that point we do not know your name or number.

The conversation itself happens in WhatsApp (a Meta service), under WhatsApp’s own terms. If you send the message, the reference lets us connect your conversation with the website visit. We do not send automated WhatsApp messages.

When you send a form (booking request, contact, tailor-made or school enquiry), we save what you typed — such as name, email, phone, dates, number of travellers, pickup place and message — together with the same technical details, in the same booking system. A copy of your enquiry is emailed to us using the FormSubmit email-forwarding service.

We use these details to reply to you and to organise your trip. We keep them for as long as needed for that and for our own records. You can ask us to see, correct or delete them by emailing info@moroccoeliteguide.com.

Our website platform (Base44) also records basic technical visit statistics — such as the page visited, approximate country and device type — to run the site, and may keep a technical identifier in your browser for that purpose.

Other services that receive technical data

Like any website, loading our pages sends your IP address and browser details to the services that deliver them: Base44 (hosting and booking database), Cloudflare (content delivery), Google Fonts (fonts) and image hosts. These requests are needed to show the page.

Changes to this policy

If we change how the website collects data, we will update this page and the date at the top.
